Windfinder.com and Meteomedia of Switzerland cooperate
Windfinder and Meteomedia of Switzerland have initiated a strategic cooperation which allows both companies to improve their weather products and services. Windfinder displays severe weather warnings from Meteomedia’s severe weather centres. Windfinder will also receive observations from Meteomedia’s weather station network whereas Windfinder provides weather data from its network and watersports weather expertise and know how to Meteomedia.
Meteomedia was founded by Jörg Kachelmann in 1990. Meteomedia employs about 90 people, has offices in Switzerland, Hong Kong, Philippines and the USA and is a leading weather service in Europe. Meteomedia operates a network of about 830 weather stations in Europe.
Windfinder.com is a global in watersports and outdoor sports weather service providing forecasts for 25000 locations and observations for about 10.000 weather stations worldwide. Windfinder.com was founded in 1999 by Oliver König, a former German champion in sailboat racing and an avid kitesurfer.
