Did you know: Wave forecasts
Did you know that Windfinder also offers wave forecast for all surfers or other wave-addicts out there? In our forecast maps for the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean, you can see the swell trains coming in to your local spot. On the spot forecast pages (e.g. Peniche), you also find detailed information about the swell height, direction and period besides our usual wind and weather parameters.
If you are in North America, we can offer you additional wave forecast maps with a higher resolution, so you will be able to pick your surfing days even better!
Regional Wave Forecast for North America
There is a new feature for our wave forecasts. We added regional wave forecasts with higher resolution for various regions in North America. Now you can check the surf forecast for Hawaii, the US and Canadian Pacific coast, the US and Canadian Atlantic coast, the Carribean and the Gulf of Mexico and the Central American states. For all lake surfers out there we also added wave forecast for the Great Lakes.
Wind reports and forecasts for Oceania added
Windfinder added wind reports for Melanesia and Polynesia in the southern Pacific (Oceania) covering islands and countries like Nauru, Kiribati, Solomon Isles, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, French Polynesia.
On the wind report map and forecast map for Melanesia you’ll find wind reports and forecasts for Koumac, La Tontouta, Noumea (all on Grande Terre/Nouvelle Caledonie), Nadi/Viti Levu, Nananu-I-Ra/Rakiraki, Suva/Viti Levu and Sigatoka on Viti Levu (all in Fiji), Lupepau’u Vavau and Fua’amotu/Tongatapu in Tonga.
