New feature: find all places nearby
Today we launch a very exciting new feature for all locations on Windfinder: using our new “Nearby” pages, you can find all places nearby your favorite Windfinder location (e.g. the Nearby-page for Tarifa). You can get an overview of the conditions outside using our nearby webcams listing. Or you are on vacation and a part of your sports equipment breaks - and you can simply find all nearby shops and schools where you can get spare parts. Or you want to have a look at the local forecast locations in your area.
You can find the “Nearby” pages as the rightmost tab on all location pages.

Did you know: Webcam directory
Did you know that Windfinder has a very large directory of web- and surfcams with over 1700 entries? Using Google Maps, you can view your favorite spot from your computer at home and see for yourself if the conditions are good.
You can browse our webcam and surfcam directory from the top navigation point “webcams”. If you have a webcam available at home pointing at your local surf spot or you think there is a cam missing in our directory, don’t hesitate to add it!
Did you know: Nearest Webcams, Surfspots, schools etc.
When you are on the Wind report, Wind forecast, Wind statistic or Superforecast page of your preferred surfspot (e.g. Biarritz), you can get information about the nearest Webcams, Surfschools or -shops, Wind- and Kitesurfspots (in cooperation with kitebeaches.com) and tide spots.
You can find this menu on the left hand side on every Wind report, Wind forecast and Wind statistic page as well as on our new Superforecast pages. Just click on the category you are interested in (e.g. Webcams), and a menu will pop up to show you the nearest Webcams around. The view to your preferred surfspot is just one click away.
Search for wind reports, forecasts, webcams and tides in your Browser search box
If you use Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox you can now search for wind reports, forecasts, webcams and tides on Windfinder in your search box on the top right of your browser (no matter if you are on www.windfinder.com or not). This makes it even easier to find wind, waves and weather quickly. To install the search plug in in Firefox, click on the drop down arrow on the left hand side of the search box and pick “Add Windfinder.com”.
Then select “Windfinder.com” from the list of “search engines”. That’s it. On Internet Explorer 7 the installation is similar.
Now type in the name of the surfspot that you want to check the weather for (e.g. El Medano). The search results appear on windfinder.com (e.g. results for El Medano).
Webcam directory now with Google Maps
Windfinder has switched its webcam directory with more then 1500 webcams to Google maps. The new interface allows you to view the exact location of a webcam in normal map, satellite and hybrid mode. If a cam is missing you can add it quickly.
